DREAM, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE, SUCCEED
Arts in Education
The DCES PTO proudly supports several Arts in Education programs, with the assistance of the Arts in Education Council for Scottsdale Schools. More information about the AEC can be found at their website. Contact our Arts in Ed chair Diane Kuhler at 502-5855 with any questions or to volunteer for any of our programs!
Art Masterpiece
Art Masterpiece is an art enrichment program presented by PTO volunteers to participating classrooms, usually K-3, on our campus. Training and support is provided to all volunteers - no art background is necessary! PTO paid, voluntary Phoenix Art Museum training sessions begin Wednesday Sept. 9th. Classroom project supplies are provided by our PTO. Volunteer opportunities are still available!
For Art Masterpiece Volunteers
Artist in Residence
The DCES Community is very active in obtaining an annual Artist in Residence for our students. This coordinated effort allows a professional artist to work directly with every student on our campus, in addition to a special project with the focus grade level. Residencies are paid for through grants from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, matching funds provided this year by the AEC, through the generous support of the Scottsdale League for the Arts, and additional support funds from our PTO. In addition, all services are coordinated with SUSD administration.
Music Memory
The DCES PTO would welcome a chair for the Music Memory program, which we have had in the past. Music Memory programs and training is supported by the AEC and the Phoenix Symphony. A music background is not needed to volunteer. Please contact the Arts in Ed chair or any DCES PTO Board member to discuss plans to revive this program at DCES.
