You are about to embark on one of the most enjoyable volunteer missions you will ever experience. To make everything go as smoothly as possible, there are some preparations that need to be made in advance.

• Contact the other volunteers in your class. Review your lessons. If you are the only volunteer…guess what??? You are it!!

• Coordinate the dates and times with the classroom teacher.

• On the day of your presentation, be prompt and keep the lesson to the allotted time.

• Follow the schedule of lessons, make sure packets, prints and supplies are returned immediately. There are others behind you.

• Have students put their name on each art project and take home with them as soon as the project is finished.

• Make copies of the biography provided in each lesson’s packet and send home with each student.

• Remember….there are NO WRONG ANSWERS! A good response to an unexpected question could be “Gee, I hadn’t thought of that!”

• Make lessons fun!
