Welcome you to our Desert Canyon Birthday Book Club (BBC)!
This program was established to provide a healthy alternative to celebrate your child’s birthday at DCES and add books to our school library. It is our hope that you and your family will support the building of our library collection by participating in this fun program at Desert Canyon.
The BBC will celebrate birthdays by inviting students to make a donation toward the purchase of a professionally selected, hardcover, shelf ready library book. Every quarter, students who have chosen to participate will be invited to attend a birthday party in their honor. At the celebration, they will select a NEW library book, place a permanent nameplate with his/her name on it in the book and have the honor of being the FIRST to check out the book! They will borrow it to share with family and classroom and when it is returned it becomes part of the Desert Canyon Library collection.
Birthday books will be valued “treats” for years to come.
Participation in the BBC is a $20 donation. The average hardcover library book costs approximately $15 with an additional $5 for processing.

When you have completed the form, return it with your donation to your child’s teacher. Checks should be made out to Desert Canyon PTO with the memo noted to Birthday Book Club (BBC).
Celebration Dates:
- Party #1: August, September, October birthdays – September 23 celebration
- Party #2: November, December, January birthdays – December 2nd celebration
- Party #3: February, March, April birthdays – March 2nd celebration
- Party #4: May, June and July birthdays – May 2nd celebration
It is our goal to add 500 new books to the library inventory during the 2011- 2012 school year!
