GRANT PROCUREMENT

JILL FEINSTEIN is responsible for researching Grant Writing opportunities that may fit the needs of our school.  Most recently, our school was awarded a $5000 grant from Lowe’s Home Improvement to help fund the newly installed Amphitheater Turf.

PARENT COUNCIL REP

JENNY DORSCH is responsible for relaying information from the SUSD Parent Council Executive Board to the DCES PTO Executive Board.  Her duties include attending monthly meetings, and then updating the DCES PTO Executive Board on up and coming state and district issues that may affect our school.

SISTER SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP (TAVAN):

Desert Canyon’s “Sister School” is Tavan Elementary School.  Helping those that are less fortunate is a fulfilling & rewarding experience for parents & children to participate in together.  This is accomplished throughout the school year with ongoing events including back-to-school drives & holiday/winter donations.  It is a wonderful opportunity for all DCES families to participate in.  Please contact EVA MEYERS or DIANNA WEAVER for more information.

HELPING HANDS

DIANA DOETZEL is heading up this outreach committee whereas she maintains a group of volunteers who are willing to volunteer for things including:  meal prep & delivery, transportation, and any other help as needed to DCES families in need, which may be due to serious illness, tragedy, death in the family, military deployment, etc.
