ROOM PARENTS:

Some of the events that require room parent leadership include:  Collecting Class Funds, Fall Fest, Coordinating Class Parent Pick-Up Line Duty, Teacher Appreciation, and Party & Teacher Gift Planning.  Please contact ALYSSA ANDRE who maintains a list of the room parents & communicates to them regularly about ongoing responsibilities and needs of the volunteer room parents.

COPY CATS:

Volunteers will assist teachers in the task of copying classroom materials.  Volunteers are needed daily to complete teacher copying requests.  Please contact LESLIE HUMPHREY who will develop a schedule of volunteers on a ongoing basis so that each day is staffed.

HEALTH SCREENING:

MICHELLE WHITE coordinates with our school nurse to organize, recruit & schedule volunteers to manage the vision & hearing screenings for the students.  This event takes place in the Fall.

FIELD DAY:

TAMI ROSELLINI coordinates with our P.E. staff to implement Field Day, which is held in the Spring over a 2-day period for all grades.   Volunteers are needed from each classroom to help at the stations & throughout the event.

PICTURE DAY:

MICHELLE WHITE coordinates volunteers to ensure a productive and successful Picture Day.  Her responsibilities include helping at the scheduled times, including making sure the children are prepared for the photos & keeping classrooms on track with the specified time schedules.

TRANSPORTATION:

ALYSSA ANDRE coordinates volunteers that help students get to and from their classrooms at the beginning & end of the school days to ensure that students successfully get to their classrooms & to their appropriate afternoon transportation home during the first week of school.

Throughout the year, classrooms are assigned to Parent Pick-Up line duty to assist teachers and expedite the pick-up and drop-off process.  One volunteer per shift is necessary.  Each class is assigned by the week, with a maximum of a two weeks commitment per school year.

YEARBOOK:

JILL SUMMER is responsible for yearbook production including design, photos, layout & sales. She promotes specific programs to ensure funding for yearbook, including advertisement sales, love lines & other means.

BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB:

STACY SMITH and JULIE STELSE are the coordinators for the BBC this year.  This program is an opportunity to have your child’s birthday recognized with a celebration in the school library.  Children are recognized quarterly and parents are encouraged to attend & help during their child’s celebration.  Children are able to pick out a book they are donating to the library, made possible by their birthday book club donation.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIRS:

Our school book fairs are tons of fun!  These take place twice a year.  In the Fall, there is a week-long book fair that culminates on the final day with the annual “Donuts with Dad & Distinguished Relatives”.  In the Spring, the book fair is held in conjunction with the Art Walk, and the Band & Choir performances.  DANA STANSBERY and CHRISTINE BABEY will coordinate this year’s book fairs.  Many volunteers are needed to help with these well attended book fairs!

5th GRADE CELEBRATION:

The 5th Grade Celebration is held during the last week of school.  This is a fun event that allows the graduates to celebrate with their friends and teachers in a fun atmosphere during the school day.  JAN POSIN is coordinating the 5th Grade Celebration this year and she encourages volunteers to bring their ideas to the table help make this event a memorable event for the kids!
