SCHOOL PROMOTIONS
Thanks again for a wonderful Sally Foster fundraiser for Desert Canyon ES! Our running total for the Sally Foster Fundraiser to date is $16, 000 in sales with a profit around $8,000 raised for our school. Top sales awards went to Lauren H. in Ms. Sullivan's class with $477 in sales, Mason L. in Mrs. Bauer's class with $422 in sales, and David T. in Mrs. Victor's class with $338 in sales. Ms. Sullivan's class had the most sales with over $1400 in sales.
Products from the Sally Foster catalog are still available for purchase online at www.sallyfoster.com. Just use the DCES account number, 872845 when placing your order. Sales will still benefit DCES through July, 2009. Orders are shipped directly to the customer.
Orders placed during our drive will be delivered on October 22. We also purchased some extra Entertainment Guides, so get yours before supplies run out! Contact Brenda McLaughlin at 563-2393 to reserve your copy today!
Don't forget that you can still order your yearbook online at Josten's! Simply fill in the location information on the form found at this page, and select DCES to place your order. NEW!! The Birthday Book Club will celebrate birthdays by inviting students to make a donation toward the purchase of a professionally selected, hardcover, shelf ready library book. Every quarter, students who have chosen to participate will be invited to attend a birthday party in their honor. At the celebration, they will select a NEW library book, place a permanent nameplate with his/her name on it, in the book and have the honor of being the FIRST to check out the book! They will borrow it to share with family and classroom, then when it is returned it becomes part of the Desert Canyon Library collection! 4 Other Easy Ways to Help our School
1. BASHAS’ SHOP & GIVE PROGRAM. Please don’t forget to link your BASHAS’ CLUB CARD to our school ID: 25897
. If the cashier can't enter your club card to Shop & Give. Please go online to Basha's charity pages. This program begins on September 1st and will run though March 31st. IT MUST BE RENEWED EVERY YEAR! Last year DCES received a check for $400. Let’s try to exceed that this year and receive the MAX of $2,500.!!!
2. eScrip-Safeway, Macy's and MORE! Register your Safeway Club Card at www.escrip.com Log into their website and click “RENEW” or, if you have never signed up use the DCES ID - 6602813. Each month our PTO receives checks from your dollars spent at Safeway and other participating stores. (see online for other participating stores)
Here’s how it works:
1% on monthly purchases between $0-300.
Plus 2% on monthly purchases between $300-500
Plus 3% on monthly purchases between $500-600
Plus 4% on monthly purchases between $600
RENEW ANNUALLY BY NOVEMBER 1ST!
3. BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION! Collect BOX TOPS from hundreds of your favorite General Mills products, each BOX TOP is worth 10 cents to our school! Sometime you may find BONUS BOX TOPS worth more. Careful clipping your labels!
Don’t wait to send in your ziploc baggies FULL of labels they EXPIRE.
PTO receive 2 checks a year, October and February are our deadlines.
Each school can earn a maximum of $20,000 annually. We received a check last school year for $370. Our Goal for 2008 to 2009 is to raise $4,500.
That’s if each family would clip 100 BOX TOPS this school year!
4. CARTRIDGES FOR KIDS, “RECYCLING“! Collect all of your recyclable electronics, cell phones, iPods’, laptops, PDAS, video games & consoles, digital camera’s, DVD’s, most all empty ink cartridges.

Ask, your family, friends and businesses to recycle! Place all the items in plastic bags.
Please put them in our BOX TOP bin located in the front office.
